We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Head Chef or Sous Chef to lead our culinary team. Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise the kitchen team to ensure efficient food production and service.
- Oversee all aspects of food preparation, presentation, and quality control to meet company standards.
- Manage inventory, order supplies, and ensure proper storage of ingredients in accordance with food safety regulations.
- Develop menus in collaboration with management, incorporating innovative dishes and seasonal ingredients.
- Maintain compliance with health and safety standards, including food safety protocols and hygiene practices.
- Train and mentor junior kitchen staff, fostering a positive team environment centred on continuous improvement.
- Coordinate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service delivery.
- Monitor kitchen operations during service hours to optimise productivity and minimise waste.
- Assist in the recruitment process for new kitchen personnel as required.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in a supervisory role within a professional kitchen environment, ideally in a restaurant or hospitality setting.
- Extensive culinary experience with a strong background in food preparation, cooking techniques, and presentation skills.
- Demonstrable leadership qualities with the ability to manage a diverse team effectively.
- Sound knowledge of food safety standards and hygiene regulations.
- Excellent organisational skills with the capacity to manage multiple tasks efficiently under pressure.
- Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with team members and management.
- Previous experience in menu development, food production, and serving is highly desirable.
- Formal culinary qualifications or relevant certifications are preferred but not essential for highly experienced candidates.
