Overview:
We are seeking dedicated Kitchen Porters to join our team in a bustling pub restaurant. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the kitchen staff and ensuring smooth operations, let's be honest, this is not a glamorous position, but a very important position that we understand is hard work but also acknowledge the kitchen cannot run effectively without.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with basic food preparation tasks under the guidance of the kitchen team.
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards in the kitchen area.
- Wash dishes, utensils, and cooking equipment promptly.
- Dispose of waste and recycling appropriately.
- Keep kitchen floors and work surfaces clean and sanitised.
- Support chefs during service by fetching and carrying items as needed.
- Adhere to health and safety regulations at all times.
Experience:
- Previous experience in a similar role within the hospitality or restaurant industry is advantageous but full training can be provided.
- Knowledge of basic food preparation techniques is desirable.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
- Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with the kitchen team.
- Willingness to learn and take on new tasks as required.
