Experienced Service Advisor

AC Garage Services is one of Devon's leading independent garages, built on exceptional customer service, high-quality workmanship and a genuine commitment to doing things properly.
As our business continues to grow, we're looking for an experienced Service Advisor to join our friendly and professional front-of-house team.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys working with people, thrives in a busy environment and takes pride in delivering an outstanding customer experience from the moment a customer contacts us through to collecting their vehicle.
The Role
You'll be responsible for managing the customer journey from start to finish, ensuring every customer receives clear communication, honest advice and exceptional service.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Greeting customers professionally in person, over the telephone, by email and online messaging systems.
- Booking vehicles in for servicing, MOTs, diagnostics and repairs.
- Keeping customers updated throughout the repair process.
- Explaining recommended work and providing clear, accurate estimates.
- Producing job cards and maintaining accurate customer and vehicle records.
- Raising invoices and processing customer payments.
- Ordering parts and liaising with suppliers.
- Scheduling workshop jobs efficiently alongside the workshop team.
- Managing MOT bookings and workshop capacity.
- Supporting contract maintenance administration.
- Maintaining a clean, welcoming and professional reception area.
What We're Looking For
The successful candidate will have:
- Previous experience as a Service Advisor within the motor trade.
- A good mechanical understanding of vehicle servicing and repairs.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise a busy workload.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office.
- Excellent written and spoken English with strong grammar and punctuation.
- A positive, proactive attitude and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- A full UK driving licence.
