About the Role:The team:
In this role, you will support the Optimisation Legal Division on regulatory matters, commercial contracts, new initiatives and projects, and other generalist legal matters. You will be a key partner to the Legal, Risk and Compliance (LRC) function as well as to the broader organisation including, sales, product and senior management. This role reports into the Head of Legal & Regulatory for Optimisation based in Stockholm.
Responsibilities and impact:
Together, we build, support, protect and manage high performance, resilient platforms. Our services are vital to financial institutions around the global, managing peak volumes and working with customers and regulators to ensure the efficient management of risk and effective operation of global capital markets.
Regulatory Management & Compliance
- Oversee day-to-day regulatory matters across APAC, EU, UK, and the US.
- Assess legal/regulatory risks for new products and features, collaborating with internal teams and external counsel to find viable solutions.
- Manage regulatory interactions, including licensing applications, mandatory notifications, audit requests, and consultation responses.
- Monitor global regulatory shifts and work cross-functionally (Risk, Tech, Finance) to implement required changes.
- Maintain a centralized repository and tracker of all internal and external legal advice.
Commercial Contracts & Playbooks
- Draft, negotiate, and update a wide range of commercial agreements (e.g., client, CCP, vendor, licensing, data, and intragroup contracts).
- Adapt contract templates and fee letters to support new product launches and changing market practices.
- Develop and maintain legal playbooks and sales guidance to streamline commercial workflows.
- Continuously improve, simplify, and optimize the organization's contracting approach based on feedback.
Global Collaboration & General Support
- Partner with international legal colleagues (London, Stockholm, India, NY, Israel) on cross-border and topical legal issues.
- Review sales and marketing collateral to ensure compliance.
- Provide ad-hoc generalist legal support to the wider division and organization as needed.
What we’re looking for:Fundamental requirement:
- A qualified lawyer in the UK and/or US.
- 3-4 years’ experience in a legal function at a regulated financial services firm (preferably a bank, brokerage, exchange, or trading venue) or as a financial services lawyer at a law firm.
- Have experience handling regulatory matters in the UK and US as well as experience in drafting and negotiating contracts.
