Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Apprentice to join our childcare team. This paid position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in developing their skills in early childhood education and management within a nurturing environment. The successful candidate will support experienced staff in caring for children, gaining valuable hands-on experience, and developing leadership qualities essential for future career progression.
Responsibilities
- Assist with the supervision and care of children in a nursery or childcare setting
- Support daily activities, including play, learning, and meal times
- Help organise and facilitate educational activities suitable for various age groups
- Maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for children and staff
- Observe and report on children's progress and behaviour to senior staff
- Support with organisational tasks such as preparing materials and setting up activity areas
- Develop communication skills through interaction with children, parents, and team members
Requirements
- Experience with children or nursery work is desirable but not essential; a genuine interest in early childhood education is important
- Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written
- Ability to work well within a team, demonstrating leadership when appropriate
- Management skills or leadership qualities are advantageous for future development roles
- Childcare / early childhood education qualifications are a plus but not mandatory; relevant training will be provided during the apprenticeship
- Valid driving licence preferred for roles involving transportation duties
- Responsible, organised, and eager to learn in a supportive environment
