Astra Telematics is a small but significant player in the global IoT device industry. Our devices are used in a diverse range of vehicles and applications all over the world. We operate within a fast-paced market with rapidly changing technology and ever more demanding applications. We are currently seeking an Electronic Engineer to support our hardware development team. Based at our office in Trafford Park, the role is suited to an organised and methodical individual, with a passion for technology, and an academic qualification in electronics. There are opportunities to move into hardware or software development for suitably talented and ambitious individuals.
Essential Requirements:
- Attention to detail
- An organised working manner
- Excellent manual dexterity
- A bachelor's degree in an electronics-related subject
- High level of competence in reading and understanding electronic circuit schematics
- Use of handheld soldering-iron and hot-air soldering rework tools
- Logical thinking
- Problem solving
Responsibilities will include:
- Inspection, testing and component-level diagnosis of faulty devices
- PCB repair and rework, including BGA, LGA, CSPs using hot air tools
- Technical support for our (non-technical) internal team and our clients
- Support the development team with testing new hardware and software
