An experienced, hands-on Coffee Shop Manager is required to lead the day-to-day operation of a thriving Coffee Shop situated at the heart of a unique countryside Estate. The Estate is a true destination offering hospitality, relaxation, activities and a full events programme and the coffee shop plays a pivotal role amongst it all. The ideal candidate and Coffee Shop Manager, needs to have strong commercial awareness, a genuine passion for hospitality and the ability to maintain the warm, polished feel of the Estate across everything from a weekday coffee service to a full evening event. Proven experience and longevity in a similar hospitality management position is essential. Our client is looking for a Coffee Shop Manager who brings leadership qualities, a strong work ethic, excellent customer service and a professional approach to guest experience.
The role
You'll take ownership of the coffee shop and restaurant operations ensuring it opens, runs and closes to a consistently high standard. You'll work closely with the Head Chef to keep front-of-house and kitchen aligned and liaise with the Logistics & Procurement Manager on stock and ordering, as well as liaising with the wider Estate team as required. The role requires flexibility across weekends, bank holidays and some evenings.

Key responsibilities
- Day-to-day management of the coffee shop and restaurant, maintaining a calm, professional and welcoming environment
- Leading, supervising, training and developing the front-of-house team
- Preparing and managing staff rotas, holiday requests and absence cover
- Monitoring stock levels across drinks, retail, disposables and cleaning supplies, and communicating order requirements clearly
- Ensuring all guests receive a warm, attentive and professional experience, handling feedback and complaints where needed
- Supporting upselling of food, drinks, retail and events, and keeping menus, displays and signage accurate and attractive
- Maintaining excellent cleanliness, food hygiene and allergen compliance throughout
- Supporting events, courtyard dining, private bookings and other Estate activity
Experience Required
- Proven experience in a coffee shop, café, restaurant or hospitality management role
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop a team
- Excellent customer service skills and a genuine passion for hospitality
- Excellent organisation to manage rotas, stock and competing priorities
- Excellent knowledge of food hygiene, health and safety and allergen procedures
- Confident handling guest feedback and resolving issues professionally
- Flexible and reliable, able to work weekends, bank holidays and occasional evenings
- Must be able to drive due to the rural location
- Barista experience beneficial
