What Will You Be Doing?
As our Management Accountant, you will report directly to the Finance Director and work closely with our housing division, social enterprise, and subsidiary to support our strategic objectives. Your main responsibilities will include:
- Financial Reporting & Strategy: Preparing monthly management accounts, organisational KPIs, and contributing key inputs to our 30-year financial plan and regulatory returns.
- Housing Finance Management: Managing technical accounting for income streams, calculating rents and service charges, and ensuring strict compliance with the Social Housing Rent Standard and industry legislation.
- Collaborative Business Partnering: Partnering with various departments across the organisation to ensure accurate reporting and collaborating with local authority Housing Benefit teams.
- Core Accounting: Taking ownership of the fixed asset register, managing balance sheet reconciliations, and supporting the budget, forecast, and statutory audit processes.
What Skills and Experience Do You Need?
To be successful in this diverse and impactful role, it is essential that you have:
- Professional Qualifications: To be a part-qualified accountant (CCAB/CIMA) or qualified by relevant experience.
- Industry Expertise: Direct experience with FRS 102 (specifically Section 34/The Housing SORP) and the Social Housing Rent Standard.
- The Right Mindset: A proactive, flexible approach with excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Compliance Ready: Proof of right to work in the UK and a willingness to undergo a satisfactory enhanced DBS check (funded by us).
