Management Accountant – St Swithun’s School
St Swithun’s school, Winchester is seeking to appoint an experienced and proactive Management Accountant to join its finance team and contribute to informed decision-making across a complex multi-entity organisation.
St Swithun’s is a leading independent GSA and HMC girls’ school for pupils aged 11-18, with an adjoining IAPS prep school, a charitable foundation and a wholly owned subsidiary. Set on a beautiful 45-acre campus close to Winchester City Centre the school combines academic ambition with strong pastoral care, high performance learning and a warm, values led community.
Working closely with the Head of Finance and the Bursary team the post holder will play a key role in delivering accurate, timely, and high-quality financial services across the senior and prep schools, the school’s letting company subsidiary and the Bramston Foundation charity. The role is varied and rewarding, combining technical accounting with meaningful engagement across the school.
Responsibilities include: financial analysis, reporting, budget management, VAT management, compliance, and contributing to payroll processes. You will also be encouraged to review workflows, share ideas and support the continuous development of the finance function.
The successful candidate will be a qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA, ACA or equivalent) with strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills and a positive, flexible approach. Experience in a school or charitable environment is welcome but not essential.
Salary: £40,000 - £45,000 per annum, plus a generous benefits package
