Job Summary
We are looking for a kind and caring Femail Support Worker to join our team at the children’s home.
In this important role, you will help look after children who may have experienced difficult times or show challenging behaviour. You will support them with their daily routines, make sure they feel safe and cared for, and help them grow in confidence and independence.
Responsibilities
- As a Support Worker in our children’s home, you will:
- Encourage and support children to attend school or educational activities, helping them reach their full potential.
- Assist with medication routines and ensure each child follows their individual care plan.
- Build positive relationships with the children by engaging them in social, recreational, and companionship activities that support their emotional well-being.
- Observe and report any changes in the children's health, mood, or behaviour to the appropriate professionals to ensure they receive the right support.
- Help maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming home environment, following all health and safety guidelines.
- Keep accurate records of the care and support provided, ensuring clear and up-to-date documentation at all times.
Skills and Experience – Children’s Home Support Worker
- Previous experience working with children is preferred, especially in residential care, home care, or supported living settings.
- Holding an NVQ Level 3 or 4 in Health and Social Care (or working towards it) is highly desirable.
- Understanding of additional care needs, including emotional, behavioural, and complex health challenges, is beneficial.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build trusting, positive relationships with children and young people.
- Physically able to support children with mobility or personal care needs, including safe lifting and handling.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly record and report information.
- A compassionate and patient attitude, with a genuine commitment to providing high-quality, child-centred care.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and sleep-in shifts as required.

Qualifications
- Proven experience in care roles, particularly in assisted living and nursing home settings
- Strong knowledge of patient care, including Alzheimer's and dementia care
- Ability to develop and implement care plans tailored to individual needs
- Certification in first aid and medication administration
- Skills in meal preparation, behavior management, and heavy lifting
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for home care visits
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: £13.85-£15.00 per hour
