We are seeking three enthusiastic, innovative and learner-focused part time tutors for English & Maths, ESOL and Digital Skills to join our curriculum team. This is an exciting opportunity to support adults in developing the English, mathematical, communication and digital skills they need to participate confidently in everyday life, progress into employment and further learning, and become active members of their communities.

The successful candidates will deliver programmes including:

Accredited and non-accredited ESOL programmes from Pre Entry to Level 1.

Essential Digital Skills and ICT learning from Pre-Entry to Level 1.

Employability-focused ESOL and Digital Skills learning.

Accredited and non-accredited English and maths programmes from Entry 1 to Level 2 including delivery of Functional Skills and portfolio-based qualifications.

Digital inclusion programmes supporting learners with little or no previous experience of technology.
- Learning programmes delivered at Bury Adult Learning Centre and community venues across the borough. This role is ideal for a tutor who is passionate about widening participation, reducing barriers to learning and supporting adults from diverse backgrounds to achieve their personal, educational and employment goals.
Essential
-
A recognised teaching qualification at a minimum of Level 4 (e.g. Certificate in Education, Diploma in Education and Training, PGCE/PGDE).

A recognised ESOL qualification at a minimum of Level 5 (e.g. CELTA, TESOL, PGCE with ESOL subject specialism).

Relevant Digital Skills, ICT or Computing qualifications, or significant experience delivering Digital Skills provision.

Subject specialism in English or Maths with experience of teaching Functional Skills from Entry Level to Level 2.

Experienced of teaching 16+

Experience of delivering ESOL programmes to adult learners.

Strong organisational skills, including effective planning, preparation, assessment and maintenance of learner records.

The ability to engage, motivate and inspire learners from a wide range of cultural, educational and linguistic backgrounds.

Flexibility to work across a range of venues and working patterns, including some evenings.

A full UK driving licence and access to transport to travel between community venues across the borough.
Desirable

Experience of teaching either English & Maths, ESOL or Digital Skills within Adult and Community Learning or Further Education.

Experience of delivering accredited English, Maths, ESOL qualifications or Digital Skills.

Experience of working with learners at Pre-Entry, Entry and Level 1 Digital Skills.

Knowledge of digital inclusion and the barriers faced by learners who experience language and digital disadvantage.

A creative, inclusive and learner-centred approach to teaching and learning.

Online safety, employability and digital participation programmes.
You will work closely with curriculum managers, community partners and support services to retain and support learners, ensuring that all learners receive a high-quality learning experience and are supported to achieve their full potential.
