The Role:
MedChemica's primary software is the online application MCPairs, which uses science and methodology developed by the directors to design new drugs to treat serious diseases. We are in our 14th year of licensing this web based application to large pharmaceutical companies, biotechs and academic groups. MedChemica has a track record of assisting in producing new candidates drugs that are in clinical development and helping patients. You will be working in a team driving forward the continual development of new tools and interfaces for end users.
Requirements:
Degree in Computer Science - applications from new graduates will be accepted.
Skilled in software development for desktop and/or client-server applications.
Proficient in modern high-level languages such as Python, C++, Angular, Typescript, SQL.
Experience with software version control systems preferably Git.
Familiarity with additional systems is a bonus.
An appreciation of full stack development.
Experienced with client-server application development using relational databases.
SQL database experience for designing for creating database tables and objects, MySQL experience preferred.
Additional useful qualifications:
A-Levels in Chemistry / Science and Mathematics.
Overview:
MedChemica employs all new starter on a fixed 1 year contract with the potential of becoming permanent.
Applicants must be eligible to work in the United Kingdom.
Flexible / Hybrid working - initially expected to be in the office for 4 out of 5 days while becoming familiar with the codebase and project needs.
