HGV Mechanic
Location: Normanton
Rota: 4 on 4 off | 6:00pm – 6:00am
Hourly rate: Up to £24.40 per hour
The Role We are currently recruiting for an experienced HGV Mechanic to join a busy, modern workshop in Normanton. This is a fantastic opportunity to work with a reputable commercial vehicle dealership offering excellent facilities and a strong team environment.
As an HGV Mechanic, you will be responsible for carrying out a full range of maintenance, repairs, and diagnostics on heavy goods vehicles, ensuring they are safe, compliant, and back on the road quickly.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out routine servicing, maintenance, and inspections on HGVs
- Diagnose faults and complete repairs efficiently
- Perform major mechanical repairs and overhauls
- Follow jobs through from fault finding to completion
- Ensure all work is completed to high safety and quality standards
Requirements
- NVQ Level 3 / City & Guilds in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance & Repair (or equivalent)
- Proven experience as an HGV Mechanic, HGV Technician, or HGV Fitter
- Experience within a dealership or fleet environment
- Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills
- Class 1 (C+E) licence – desirable but not essential
