Third in Charge / Senior Practitioner
3 days a week- permanent role
We are looking for an enthusiastic, experienced and caring Third in Charge / Senior Practitioner to join our friendly nursery team in Newhaven.
About the Role
As Third in Charge, you will work closely alongside the Manager and Deputy Manager to help lead the nursery team, maintain high standards of care and education, and create a safe, nurturing and inspiring environment for all children.
You will be expected to:
- Support the day-to-day running of the nursery
- Lead by example within the rooms
- Build strong relationships with children, parents and staff
- Support staff development and wellbeing
- Ensure safeguarding and welfare requirements are consistently met
- Help maintain high standards in line with the EYFS
- Step into a leadership role when required
What We Are Looking For
- Minimum Level 3 Early Years qualification
- Previous nursery experience essential
- Leadership or senior practitioner experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of the EYFS and safeguarding
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- A caring, positive and proactive attitude
- Passion for supporting children to thrive and learn through play
