As a Ramp Services Handler in the UK and EU Defence team, you'll help ensure the safe, timely and efficient delivery of airfield services operations. Working as part of a collaborative team, you'll support activities that are essential to operational readiness and service delivery.
Every task you complete helps maintain a safe and effective airfield environment. From supporting operational activities to ensuring compliance with safety procedures, your work has purpose and contributes to a positive impact on the wider defence community while helping us impact a better future.
What you’ll do as an Ramp Services Handler

Wear and maintain the correct personal protective equipment (PPE) for all allocated tasks.

Carry out allocated duties safely, efficiently and in line with approved procedures.

Maintain work areas and rest facilities to a high standard of cleanliness and organisation.

Report building, equipment and service defects through the appropriate management channels.

Complete reports and documentation accurately and on time, including safety and operational records where required.

Follow all relevant procedures, risk assessments, work instructions and local operating procedures at all times.

Report near misses, safety concerns and incidents in accordance with established processes.

Keep training records and personal development documentation up to date.
Does this sound like you?

Been SC cleared or have no problems obtaining it.

A Full UK Driving Licence (with less than 6 penalty points) and eyesight colour perception CP2 standard.
- Experience working in an airfield or aviation engineering environment — desirable, but not essential.

Working at height
-
Experience working in a safety-critical, operational or logistics environment would be beneficial.

Able to follow procedures accurately and maintain high standards of compliance.

Strong awareness of health, safety and risk management requirements.

Reliable team player with a positive approach and pride in delivering quality work.

Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively with colleagues across the operation.

Vetting and checks:
This role requires Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) clearance, which involves verifying your identity, employment history, nationality, and criminal record to meet government security standards. In addition, you need to obtain formal Security Clearance (such as CTC or SC), which includes more detailed background checks on employment, criminal record, and financial history to ensure suitability for working in secure environments. Please note that UK residency requirements may apply for certain levels of clearance. You will also complete an Occupational Health Questionnaire so we can identify and provide any support you may need to undertake the role effectively
