Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to provide essential assistance and guidance to individuals in need. This role involves working closely with vulnerable adults, fostering a supportive environment that encourages development, independence, and well-being. The successful candidate will be committed to making a positive difference in people's lives through mentoring, teaching, and personalised support.
Duties
- Offer one-to-one mentoring to adults, promoting confidence and social skills
- Assist with daily activities, ensuring safety and comfort at all times
- Support individuals in participating in educational, recreational, or therapeutic activities
- Provide guidance and encouragement during learning sessions or behavioural development exercises
- Collaborate with families, carers, and other professionals to develop tailored support plans
- Facilitate effective communication between clients and service providers
- Maintain accurate records of support provided and progress made
- Promote a positive environment that fosters growth, independence, and self-esteem
Qualifications
- Experience working with vulnerable adults is highly desirable
- Strong mentoring skills with the ability to motivate and inspire others
- Knowledge of teaching methods suitable for diverse age groups and abilities
- Compassionate nature with excellent interpersonal skills
- Ability to work flexibly, including occasional evenings or weekends if required
- Relevant qualifications in social care or education are advantageous but not essential
- A valid driving licence is preferred but not mandatory
