Role Summary
As a Transport Operator, you will ensure smooth coordination within the network, support drivers, monitor job progress, and maintain operational efficiency. You will play a key role in ensuring timely deliveries and cost-effective operations. You must ensure any issues are resolved within a 15-minute time frame (this is the network allowance for a driver to be on site). Therefore, communication is key, ensuring a traceable dialog with customers, colleagues and delivery partners is kept.
Key Responsibilities
- Be the first point of contact for drivers on the Europa contract, during the hours of 09:00 to 18:00
- Be the first point of contact for our customer Europa.
- Monitor and respond to emails efficiently.
- Track drivers progress to ensure all jobs are completed on schedule.
- Sort and upload manifests and proof of deliveries for the previous days.
- Ensure all bookings updated.
- Resolve any label issues with collections and returning goods.
- Support warehouse staff and resolve any issues which may occur.
- Debrief drivers at the end of each shift, ensuring all jobs are confirmed, damage reported and keys handed back into the office.
- Perform all duties cost-effectively, within budget, and in line with company policies.
- Cover any absence within the team and including your line manager.
Key Objectives
- Quality: Report and resolve any service failures.
- Efficiency: Ensure all goods are delivered on the anticipated date.
- Operational Excellence: Support the drivers to ensure all deliveries/collections achieved, support colleagues throughout the day to ensure smooth operation.
- Training: Identify own and other training requirements.
Skills & Qualifications
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Strong problem-solving ability and attention to detail
- Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
- Basic IT skills (email, message board management)
- Experience in road haulage or pallet network distribution.
Pay: £30,000.00 per year
