Due to continued growth, we are looking for a motivated and reliable Logistics & Warehouse Technician to join our team. This is a varied, hands-on role combining warehouse operations, deliveries, product assembly and support for our service department.
The Role
The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the smooth day-to-day operation of our warehouse and logistics activities while supporting our technical team with product assembly and occasional service work.
Key Responsibilities
Goods In
- Receive and unload deliveries from suppliers.
- Inspect incoming goods for quantity, quality and damage.
- Check deliveries against purchase orders and delivery notes.
- Book stock into the inventory system accurately.
- Label and store products in the correct warehouse locations.
- Report shortages, discrepancies or damaged goods.
Goods Out
- Pick customer orders accurately.
- Pack products securely to ensure safe transportation.
- Prepare delivery documentation and shipping labels.
- Arrange courier collections and freight shipments.
- Load vehicles safely and efficiently.
- Ensure customer orders are dispatched on time.
Logistics
- Carry out local deliveries and supplier collections using company vehicles.
- Plan delivery routes efficiently.
- Maintain a professional and courteous manner when dealing with customers and suppliers.
- Ensure company vehicles are kept clean, roadworthy and compliant.
Warehouse Operations
- Maintain a clean, organised and safe warehouse.
- Assist with regular stock checks and inventory control.
- Operate warehouse equipment safely (training provided where required).
- Support continuous improvements in warehouse efficiency.
Mechanical & Technical Support
- Assemble valves, pumps and process equipment to company procedures.
- Carry out product preparation and testing where required.
- Assist service engineers with workshop activities and occasional on-site service work.
- Support quality inspections and final checks prior to dispatch.
About You
The ideal candidate will:
- Have previous experience in a warehouse, logistics or stores environment.
- Hold a full UK driving licence (essential).
- Be confident making deliveries and collections with excellent customer service skills.
- Have good organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Be physically fit and comfortable with manual handling.
- Be able to work independently and as part of a small team.
- Have basic IT skills for stock control and delivery documentation.
Desirable
- A mechanical or engineering background.
- Experience assembling mechanical equipment or industrial products.
- Previous experience within engineering, manufacturing or industrial distribution.
- Experience working with process equipment, valves, pumps or industrial components would be beneficial.
