About the Role
Due to continued growth, Bosch Car Service Airdrie / CarCare Scotland is looking for a professional, organised and customer-focused Receptionist & Customer Care Advisor to join our busy garage team.
This is a key front-of-house position. You will often be the first person a customer speaks to, so the right candidate must have an excellent telephone manner, strong communication skills and a genuine desire to help people.
We are a fast-paced MOT, servicing and repair centre, so this role would suit someone who can stay calm under pressure, manage several tasks at once, and keep customers updated clearly and professionally.
Automotive experience would be helpful, but it is not essential. The most important thing is the right attitude, strong organisation, and excellent customer service skills.
Main Responsibilities
You will be responsible for:
- Answering incoming calls and emails in a professional and helpful manner
- Welcoming customers at reception and handling enquiries
- Booking MOTs, servicing, repairs and follow-up work
- Keeping customer records accurate and up to date
- Contacting customers about upcoming MOTs and services
- Following up with customers regarding MOT advisories and pending repair work
- Updating customers on vehicle progress, parts delays, costs and completion times
- Liaising with technicians and management to keep jobs moving smoothly
- Handling general administration and daily office tasks
- Helping maintain a professional, organised and positive customer experience
The Person We Are Looking For
The right person will be:
- Confident speaking with customers face to face and over the phone
- Polite, patient and professional, even when the day is busy
- Highly organised and able to prioritise work
- Accurate with details, records and customer information
- Comfortable using computers, emails and Microsoft Office / Office 365
- Able to work in a fast-paced garage environment
- Reliable, conscientious and willing to take ownership of tasks
- A strong communicator who can explain things clearly
- Positive, helpful and passionate about looking after customers
Skills and Experience
Required:
- Customer service experience: minimum 1 year preferred
- Administration experience: minimum 1 year preferred
- Good computer skills
- Strong communication skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- Ability to work under pressure
Helpful but not essential:
- Previous garage, dealership, motor trade or service reception experience
- Experience using garage management systems
- Knowledge of MOTs, servicing or vehicle repairs
