Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and dependable Motor Mechanic to join our team independent land rover specialist The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of motorised equipment and vehicles. This role requires a strong mechanical aptitude, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team. The Motor Mechanic will play a vital part in ensuring the safety, reliability, and optimal performance of our fleet and machinery.
Duties
- Conduct thorough inspections of vehicles and equipment using schematics and technical manuals.
- Diagnose mechanical issues accurately through visual assessment and testing procedures.
- Repair, service, and maintain engines, transmissions, brakes, electrical systems, and other components using hand tools, power tools, and specialised equipment.
- Perform assembly and disassembly tasks for repairs or upgrades with precision.
- Utilise welding techniques for structural repairs or modifications as required.
- Follow maintenance schedules to ensure ongoing operational efficiency of all machinery.
- Assist with the installation of new equipment or systems in accordance with manufacturer specifications.
- Maintain detailed records of repairs, parts used, and maintenance performed for each vehicle or piece of equipment.
- Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with clients regarding repair needs and timelines.
Experience
- Proven experience as a Motor Mechanic or similar role within an automotive or industrial setting.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, schematics, and diagnostic procedures.
- Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and assembly techniques.
- Experience in equipment repair and maintenance across various types of machinery is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of electrical systems within vehicles is advantageous but not essential.
- Ability to interpret technical manuals and schematics accurately.
