Overview
We are seeking enthusiastic and customer-focused Servers to join our dynamic hospitality team at an Indian restaurant based in Bexley. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for delivering exceptional guest experiences and have a strong understanding of restaurant operations. Previous experience in hospitality or restaurant settings is advantageous, but a positive attitude and willingness to learn are equally valued.
Duties
- Greet guests warmly and present menus with professionalism
- Take accurate food and beverage orders, ensuring special dietary requirements are accommodated
- Serve food and drinks efficiently while maintaining high standards of presentation and cleanliness
- Upsell menu items to enhance guest satisfaction and maximise sales opportunities
- Handle payments accurately using the POS system and provide correct change
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of tables, service stations, and dining areas throughout shifts
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely delivery of orders
- Provide attentive guest services, addressing any questions or concerns promptly
- Follow food safety standards and hygiene regulations at all times
- Assist in setting up the dining area before service and cleaning after closing
Qualifications
- Previous experience in hospitality, restaurant service, or related roles is preferred but not essential; a friendly demeanour and eagerness to learn are key
- Knowledge of food safety standards and basic food preparation techniques is advantageous
- Strong organisational skills with excellent time management abilities
- Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Basic maths skills for handling payments accurately
- Experience with guest services, upselling, and maintaining a positive attitude under pressure is desirable
- Flexibility to work during peak hours, including evenings and weekends as required
