The Parklane Group has been on an exciting growth journey in recent years. What began as a small property investment business focused on student lettings, is now a complex group of companies with activities spanning:

After a period of significant growth, the group is now looking to appoint an experienced Financial Controller who holds ACA/CIMA/ACCA to bring efficiency, rigour and professionalism to the accounts department, as well as delivering on high-level objectives. As part of a small accounts team, the successful candidate will also need to be prepared to get involved in the day to day site operations where necessary.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review and update monthly reporting process delivering timely and accurate management information
- Preparation of monthly management accounts (P&L, balance sheet and cash flow) for multiple entities
- Preparation of Board reporting packs with commentary, providing insightful analysis of financial and operational performance to support strategic decision-making
- Weekly cash flow forecasting for short-term and long-term
- Review and update of a monthly consolidation process
- Preparation of year end statutory accounts for UK and Jersey entities
- Liaison with Jersey directors to cover year-end accounts, quarterly management information and covenant reporting
- Quarterly loan covenant reporting to lenders including quarterly update meetings with the lenders
- Companies House compliance for annual statements and filing annual accounts
- Assist in the drive to make the accounting function more efficient, bringing automation of processes wherever possible
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of systems and controls to safeguard company assets
- Establishment of an annual budgeting process ensuring heads of departments are bought into targets and holding individuals accountable for performance
- Assist in bringing improvements to current KPI reporting, both in terms of efficiency of production, and the level of commercial insight that this brings to senior management
- Provide support to Group Financial Controller [AM2.1]in preparation of business plans and funding proposals to 3rd party investors
- Processing of payroll
- Pension scheme administration via Aegon portals
- Monthly CIS returns for developments (as necessary)
- Preparation of VAT returns and PAYE returns
- Management of year end audit process for UK audit group of companies and the Foundation (charity)
Experience & Skills
- Previous experience operating at FC level
- Experience of managing audits
- Knowledge and experience of real estate or hospitality industry would be an advantage.
- Efficient IT and data analysis skills with excellent competency of MS Excel and MS suite of applications
- Excellent communication (both written and verbal)
- Experience of working within a multi-faceted organization
- Ability to adapt approach depending on situation and circumstances
- Be a self-starter and take ownership including excellent follow up.
The role holder will be tenacious, resilient with the ability to get things done whilst maintaining positive working partnerships. Can demonstrate a track record of delivering improvements to processes and reporting.
