An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our team here at The Castle Pantry located beside Highcliffe Castle
We are looking for enthusiastic barista & waiting staff to join our fun, hardworking team.
The Castle Pantry and the satellite kiosk are situated on the iconic Highcliffe Castle grounds, being part of national heritage, listed as a grade 1 building. Highcliffe Castle have high footfall from visitors, beach tourism and locals on a daily walk.
Our venue and satellites catering for a wide range of customers, from our popular Barista style coffee & cake deal, hot food, grab & go and lunches.
Our catering assistant are the face of our business and are there to help customers. As a fast-paced venue we put customers first, second and third in everything we do. This role will require you to have a can-do attitude and to be able to work as part of a team, as well as using your own initiative.
Operations runs 7 days a week, predominantly from 8:30 a.m. until 18:00 p.m. with possibility of some evening functions.
Main responsibilities
- Prepare hot beverages, including barista style coffee.
- Customer Service - Ensure we always understand our customers’ needs.
- Product Knowledge - Providing detailed information about our products to customers.
- Replenishing Stock - Maintaining high standards throughout your department.
- Merchandising - Following guidelines to make sure products are displayed correctly.
- Targeted on having appropriate Till Point Conversations with every customer to add on sales and increase the average transaction value.
- Working on tills accurately and efficiently, to provide a positive customer experience.
- Understanding and following Food safety & hygiene guidelines
- Delivering orders to the tables
- Cleaning tables and general operations housekeeping of the premises.

- A ‘can do’ attitude
- Table service experience preferred
- Barista experience required.
Training provided includes:
- In house training
- Fire procedures
- First AID training
- Food Hygiene
Working pattern:
Predominantly day time trade, 5 days per week including weekends, bank holidays, half terms and school holidays with occasional evening functions.
