Part-Time Sales Assistant – Nisa Convenience StoreJob Overview
We are looking for a friendly, reliable, and enthusiastic Part-Time Sales Assistant to join our busy Nisa convenience store. As a key member of our team, you will provide excellent customer service, ensure the store is well presented, assist customers with their purchases, and support the day-to-day running of the business.
In addition to our convenience store, we operate multiple parcel collection and drop-off services. Full training will be provided, but you should be comfortable learning the different processes for accepting, processing, and handing out parcels from a range of courier providers.
This is a fast-paced role, ideal for someone who enjoys working with people, takes pride in delivering outstanding service, and is happy to work as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities
- Welcome customers with a friendly and professional attitude.
- Deliver excellent customer service and assist customers with product enquiries.
- Operate the till accurately, processing cash and card payments.
- Replenish stock, rotate products, and maintain high standards of merchandising and cleanliness throughout the store.
- Monitor stock levels and assist with deliveries and stockroom organisation.
- Verify age-restricted sales in accordance with company policy and UK legislation.
- Learn and confidently operate our parcel services, including accepting, processing, storing, and handing out parcels for multiple courier providers while following the correct procedures.
- Resolve customer queries relating to both retail purchases and parcel collections professionally.
- Assist in maintaining food safety and hygiene standards where applicable.
- Work efficiently during busy periods while supporting colleagues and maintaining a positive team environment.
- Follow all company policies relating to health and safety, security, and loss prevention.
Requirements
- A positive attitude with excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work flexible shifts, including evenings and weekends where required.
- Comfortable working in a busy retail environment and managing multiple tasks.
- Basic numeracy skills and confidence handling cash and operating tills.
- Good organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Willingness to learn new systems, including parcel service procedures for multiple courier providers.
- Previous retail or convenience store experience is preferred but not essential.
- Previous experience with parcel services or courier systems is an advantage but not required.
- The ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
