About the Role
This is far more than a traditional bookkeeping role.
We’re looking for someone who enjoys creating structure, improving systems, solving problems and providing the directors with clear, accurate financial information.
You’ll become the central point for all day-to-day finance, helping ensure the business remains organised, profitable and financially well controlled.
You’ll work closely with the Directors, General Manager and our external accountants.

Your Responsibilities
Daily Finance
* Managing Xero accurately and efficiently
* Daily bank reconciliations
* Processing purchase invoices
* Sales ledger management
* Credit control
* Chasing outstanding customer payments
* Supplier payment scheduling
* Managing company cash flow
Weekly
* Producing a weekly cash flow report
* Monitoring debtors and creditors
* Highlighting any financial concerns
* Preparing payment runs
* Providing simple financial reports to the Directors
Monthly
* VAT preparation
* Payroll preparation and liaison
* Management accounts
* Profitability reporting
* Cost analysis
* Month-end reconciliations
* Supporting our external accountants
Continuous Improvement
* Improve financial systems and processes
* Help automate repetitive tasks
* Assist with integrating Xero and other software
* Help improve reporting across the business
* Build a finance function capable of supporting our continued growth

About You
We’re looking for someone who:
* Has previous experience as a Senior Bookkeeper, Finance Manager or Finance Controller
* Has excellent working knowledge of Xero
* Has strong Excel skills
* Understands cash flow management
* Is organised and highly accurate
* Can prioritise workload independently
* Enjoys improving systems and processes
* Is commercially aware and understands growing businesses
* Can communicate confidently with Directors and Managers
Experience within construction, home improvements or another project-based business would be advantageous but isn’t essential.

Within your first six months you’ll have:
* Complete control of the day-to-day finance function
* Accurate and up-to-date financial records
* Well-managed debtor and creditor ledgers
* Reliable weekly cash flow reporting
* Improved financial processes
* Given the Directors complete confidence in the company’s financial position
