As a Teaching Assistant Apprentice with a PE and SEND specialism, you will:
- Support teachers in delivering high-quality lessons across the curriculum, with a focus on PE and active learning.
- Provide targeted support for pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), including 1:1 and small group interventions.
- Assist in planning and delivering Physically Active Learning interventions, such as Maths on the Move and English on the Move.
- Help to deliver and supervise PE lessons, extracurricular sports clubs, and lunchtime activities.
- Promote inclusive opportunities for all pupils, including those with additional needs, ensuring every child can participate and progress.
- Support the organisation of school sports events, festivals, and competitions.
- Contribute to creating a safe, engaging, and supportive learning environment for all pupils.
- Work closely with teachers and the wider school team to assess pupil progress and adapt support accordingly.
- Assist with the preparation of resources, displays, and classroom organisation.
- Safeguard and promote the welfare of children at all times.
Training to be Provided
Level 3 Supporting Teaching and Learning
· Level 2 Award in Multi-skills Coaching/Development in Sport (optional)
· SEND and Neurodiversity Workshops
· Maths on the Move & English on the Move – Innovative Physically Active Learning interventions
· Playground Activator Training – Building active, happy, and safe playtimes
· Skills Festival Days and additional CPD opportunities, including: Mental Health & Physical Activity, Practical Coaching, Safeguarding & PREVENT, Behaviour Management, Supporting the PE Curriculum, Personal Development, Career Planning & Employability Skills, Funding Bids & Project Design, Digital Skills
Functional skills in Maths and English (if required)
