Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented CNC Punch Programming Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and optimising CNC punch press programs to produce precise sheet metal components. Your mechanical knowledge, technical skills, and passion for fabrication will drive efficiency and quality in our manufacturing processes.
Duties
- Develop, test, and refine CNC punch press programs to meet production specifications and quality standards.
- Collaborate with the fabrication team to understand project requirements and translate them into effective programming solutions.
- Troubleshoot programming issues and make real-time adjustments to ensure smooth machine operation.
- Maintain accurate documentation of programs, tooling setups, and process parameters for future reference.
- Assist with setup and calibration of CNC punch machines, ensuring proper alignment and tooling installation.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives by analysing production data and recommending process enhancements.
- Ensure safety protocols are followed during machine operation and setup procedures.
Qualifications
- Proven experience with CNC punch press programming or similar manufacturing automation processes.
- Strong mechanical knowledge related to sheet metal fabrication, tooling, grinding, welding, and assembly.
- Familiarity with fabrication techniques such as grinding, welding, and the use of hand tools and tooling equipment.
- Basic math skills for calculating dimensions, tolerances, and material requirements.
- Knowledge of sheet metal properties and fabrication standards.
- Ability to read technical drawings and blueprints accurately.
- Hands-on experience with assembly processes and mechanical troubleshooting is a plus.
