We are a busy and growing plumbing company looking for an experienced Accounts Assistant to join our team.
Previous accounts experience is essential, including experience preparing VAT returns and VAT quarters. Experience working within the plumbing, construction or trade industry would be an advantage.
Key Responsibilities
- Processing sales and purchase invoices
- Managing accounts payable and receivable
- Raising invoices and following up outstanding payments
- Preparing and reconciling VAT returns/quarterly VAT accounts
- Bank reconciliations
- Processing payments and receipts
- Managing supplier accounts and queries
- Maintaining accurate financial records
- Assisting with month-end accounts
- General finance and administrative duties
About You
- Previous accounts experience is essential
- Proven experience preparing VAT returns and quarterly VAT accounts
- Good understanding of VAT and bookkeeping procedures
- Confident using Excel and accounting software
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Well organised and able to meet deadlines
- Reliable, professional and able to work independently
- Experience in a plumbing, construction or trade business is desirable
