Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and reliable MIG Welder / Fabricator to join our production team at Kiernan Steel Wales Ltd. You will handle structural steel fabrication from reading technical drawings through to preparing finished beams for the paint shop. This role requires physical stamina, attention to safety, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced factory environment.
Main Duties
- Weld materials in strict accordance with technical drawings.
- Cut steel accurately using a cutting torch.
- Clean and prep steel surfaces using a grinder.
- Lift and position steel girders safely for welding.
- Remove completed steel beams from the workbench.
- Position finished beams for forklift transport to the paint shop.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment.
Requirements
- Minimum of 1 year of MIG welding experience.
- Proven ability to both weld and fabricate.
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Strong attention to detail and precision.
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced setting.
- Successful completion of an in-factory weld test.
