Overview
We are seeking a skilled and passionate Sushi Chef to join our vibrant culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a deep appreciation for Japanese cuisine, exceptional knife skills, and a keen eye for presentation. Duties
- Prepare and assemble sushi dishes in accordance with traditional recipes standards
- Create a variety of sushi types, including nigiri, sashimi, maki rolls, and specialty items
- Maintain a clean and organised work station in compliance with health and safety regulation
- Uphold high standards of hygiene, cleanliness, and food safety at all time
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Sushi Chef or similar role within a reputable establishment
- Strong knowledge of Japanese cuisine, ingredients, and traditional preparation methods
- Excellent knife skills with precision in slicing fish and vegetables
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and hygiene standards
- Flexibility to work shifts including evenings, weekends, or holidays as required
- Certification in food safety or HACCP is desirable but not essential
