Packing Team Leader – Full Time | Artisan Bakery | Park Royal
We are looking for an experienced, reliable and hands-on Packing Team Leader to join our artisan bakery in Park Royal.
This is an important role within our evening packing operation. You will work alongside the packing team, helping to keep the shift organised and making sure orders are packed accurately, safely and to the standard we expect.
The role is very hands-on rather than office-based. We are looking for someone with experience in a bakery, food production or similar environment who is ready to take on more responsibility and become a consistent part of the team.
The Role
- Help organise and prioritise the packing operation to make sure the shift runs smoothly and orders are completed correctly and on time.
- Work alongside the packing team, leading by example and helping maintain a good pace and high standards.
- Check that products are packed, labelled and prepared correctly and that food safety and quality procedures are followed.
- Keep an eye on the overall progress of the shift and recognise when tasks need to be reorganised or additional support is needed.
- Guide and support other members of the packing team, particularly newer members of staff.
- Make sure relevant paperwork, checks and procedures are completed correctly.
- Deal with day-to-day operational issues and report anything requiring management attention.
- Help ensure the packing area is left clean, organised and ready for the following day.
- Help organise and load the delivery vans and ensure they are ready for the following day's deliveries.
- Drive and move company vans when required, including collecting and returning vans to their usual parking location.
- Help ensure the full evening operation is completed properly before leaving.
This is not a traditional management or office-based supervisory role. You will be working as part of the packing team and taking responsibility for keeping the operation running properly throughout the week, rather than simply telling other people what to do.
About You
We are looking for someone who is:
- Experienced in a bakery, food production, packing or similar environment.
- Ideally experienced in a team-leading or shift-leading role.
- Reliable, punctual and organised.
- Comfortable working in a busy, physically demanding environment.
- Confident communicating with colleagues and giving direction when needed.
- Able to work independently and make sensible day-to-day decisions.
- Familiar with food safety, hygiene and workplace health & safety.
- Attentive to detail and takes pride in doing things properly.
- Practical and hands-on, with a good work ethic.
- Flexible and able to stay until the evening's work is completed.
- Comfortable driving 3.5T company vans.
Driving & Location
A full UK manual driving licence is essential, and you must be aged 25+ for our vehicle insurance.
As part of the role, you will sometimes need to collect, move or return the company vans. Because of this, living locally to NW10 (Kensal Green/Park Royal) is strongly preferred.
