Mechanical Construction Manager
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Mechanical Construction Manager to join a major infrastructure project at Heathrow Airport, working on the airport's baggage handling system.
This is an excellent opportunity to secure a long-term contract on a prestigious project, with work available through to December 2027.
Location: Heathrow Airport
Rate: £400–£440 per day
Duration: Until December 2027
Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:00 – 17:00
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the delivery of Mechanical installation works on the baggage handling system.
- Manage and coordinate Mechanical subcontractors and site teams.
- Ensure all works are carried out safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project specifications.
- Monitor progress against programme and assist in maintaining project milestones.
- Conduct site inspections, quality checks, and ensure compliance with industry standards.
- Liaise with project managers, engineers, clients, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth project delivery.
- Manage permits, RAMS, and health & safety documentation.
- Identify and resolve technical and construction issues to minimise delays.
- Produce regular progress reports and attend project meetings.
Requirements
- Previous experience as an Mechanical Construction Manager on large-scale commercial, industrial, or infrastructure projects.
- Experience delivering electrical installations within complex environments such as airports, transport hubs, or similar high-profile projects is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, construction practices, and health & safety regulations.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
- Relevant electrical qualifications and valid CSCS card.
- SMSTS qualification is preferred.
