About Paper High
Born from a round‑the‑world adventure, Paper High has spent over 20 years creating and sourcing beautiful Fair Trade, handmade products from India, Nepal, and Sri Lanka.
We’re a small, friendly, values‑driven ecommerce team with a big mission: to support traditional craftsmanship and make ethical gifting easy and joyful.
We’re now looking for a Digital PR Executive to take ownership of securing press coverage for Paper High; from product placements and seasonal gift guides to backlinks and earned features that grow brand awareness and authority.
This is a hands‑on, outreach‑led PR role focused on pitching, relationship‑building, and getting our products featured in the right places at the right time. If you’re motivated by landing coverage (not just writing about it), you’ll thrive here.
About the Role
You’ll drive consistent earned media coverage across press, online publications, and creator platforms, supporting SEO, brand awareness, and seasonal ecommerce activity.
This role is ideal for someone who wants to be personally responsible for pitching stories, building media relationships, and securing earned coverage - not just supporting PR from the sidelines.
You don’t need decades of experience. What matters most is confidence pitching ideas, persistence in outreach, and enthusiasm for getting products featured, linked, and talked about.
What You’ll Do
PR & Outreach
- Independently build and maintain relationships with journalists, bloggers, influencers, and content creators.
- Personally pitch product features, seasonal hooks, and creative angles to secure press placements, gift guide inclusion, and backlinks.
- Respond directly to journalist requests via platforms such as HARO.
- Identify PR opportunities, trends, and reactive news angles.
- Write press releases and outreach copy to support pitching and media placement.
- Proactively plan PR activity around key trading moments (e.g. Christmas, Valentine’s, Mother’s Day).
Digital & Content
- Support the running of our online channels and ecommerce websites (training provided).
- Help create product listings, optimise content, and upload blogs.
- Collaborate with our Marketing Executive on campaigns, gift guides, newsletters, and social content.
- Assist the Creative Director during photoshoots, content days, and creative planning.
Team & Strategy
- Bring fresh ideas to monthly ecommerce meetings.
- Track performance and share insights.
- Suggest new software, tools, or approaches - your voice really matters here.
What We’re Looking For
You could be…
- a PR or communications graduate keen to build hands‑on experience pitching the press and securing coverage, or
- someone with hands-on PR experience looking to broaden their skills.
This role is not suited to candidates looking to move from journalism into brand storytelling. We’re looking for someone excited by pitching, follow‑ups, and securing coverage rather than writing long‑form editorial content.
Essential Skills
- Strong written English and confident communication.
- Creativity, initiative, and a willingness to learn.
- Comfortable using digital tools and picking up new software.
Nice-to-Haves (but not deal-breakers)
Experience or familiarity with any of the below is helpful, but full training is provided:
- WooCommerce
- Klaviyo
- Photoshop / Canva
- Google Analytics
- Press / influencer databases
- Social platforms (Instagram, TikTok, Pinterest, YouTube, LinkedIn)
Most of all, we’re looking for enthusiasm, fresh ideas, and someone who wants to grow with us.
