Job Description: We are seeking a highly skilled Commercial Electrician specialising in Containment Installation to join our site team. In this role, you will lead the first-fix installation of electrical containment systems on mid-scale apartment blocks. You must be proficient in reading schematic drawings and executing neat, precise runs of heavy metal containment. Key Responsibilities
- Install containment routes: Measure, cut, bend, and install galvanised conduit, cable trays, ladder racks, trunking, and basket systems.
- Interpret drawings: Read, understand, and work directly from electrical schematic diagrams and structural blueprints.
- First-fix wiring: Pull heavy-armoured (SWA) cables, data bundles, and sub-mains through installed containment.
- Use specialist tools: Competently operate conduit threaders, band saws, and core drills.
- Maintain site safety: Work safely at heights using MEWPs, towers, and ladders in compliance with health and safety regulations.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Qualifications: NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installations (or equivalent) and 18th Edition Wiring Regulations.
- Site Cards: Valid JIB Gold Card or CSCS/EECS card is mandatory.
- Experience: Proven track record of high-quality containment installation on commercial or industrial sites.
- Tools: Must possess a complete set of hand tools and calibrated testing equipment appropriate for first-fix work.
