Duties
- Lead and supervise kitchen staff, ensuring smooth daily operations and adherence to organisational standards
- Prepare, cook, and present a variety of dishes according to established recipes and presentation standards
- Oversee food production processes, maintaining consistency in quality and portion control
- Manage inventory levels, order supplies, and ensure proper storage of ingredients in accordance with food safety regulations
- Train and mentor junior kitchen staff, fostering a collaborative team environment
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including food safety standards and hygiene practices
- Collaborate with management on menu development, special event planning, and promotional activities
- Monitor kitchen cleanliness and organisation to uphold high standards of sanitation
Skills
- Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, and kitchen management within a hospitality or restaurant setting
- Supervising experience with the ability to lead a diverse team effectively
- Strong knowledge of food safety protocols and hygiene standards
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently
- Leadership qualities that motivate team members and promote a positive working environment
- Experience in hospitality service including serving guests when required
