We are recruiting on behalf of a children’s residential care provider seeking an experienced and compassionate Registered Manager for a four-bed home supporting children with learning disabilities.
This is not a start-from-scratch setup project. The home is fully set up, equipped and has already had its Ofsted registration visit. Due to a change in management arrangements following the visit, the provider is looking to appoint a new Registered Manager to take the home forward.
This is an excellent opportunity for a confident children’s residential leader to shape the service, build a positive culture and deliver consistently strong outcomes for the young people.
The role
As Registered Manager, you will have overall responsibility for the leadership, quality and day-to-day management of the home.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing clear and effective leadership to the staff team
- Creating a safe, nurturing and child-focused culture within the home
- Ensuring the individual needs of each young person are understood and met
- Maintaining strong safeguarding practices throughout the service
- Ensuring compliance with Ofsted requirements, the Children’s Homes Regulations and Quality Standards
- Overseeing care plans, risk assessments and behaviour-support strategies
- Monitoring the quality of care and driving continuous improvement
- Supporting, supervising and developing the staff team
- Ensuring staff training and performance remain at the required standard
- Maintaining accurate records, reports and management oversight
- Managing the home’s resources and budgets effectively
- Building positive relationships with families, local authorities and other professionals
- Preparing for inspections and responding appropriately to recommendations
- Promoting positive outcomes, independence and meaningful experiences for the young people
