Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Fabricator/Welder to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will possess strong welding and fabrication skills, with experience in TIG welding and sheet metal work. This role offers an excellent opportunity to work on diverse projects, utilise a variety of hand and power tools, and contribute to the production of high-quality components. Applicants should have a solid understanding of mechanical principles and basic maths to ensure precision and safety in all tasks.
Responsibilities
- Perform TIG welding and other welding techniques to assemble metal components according to specifications
- Fabricate parts from sheet metal using appropriate tools and methods
- Use hand tools, power tools, and specialised equipment to cut, shape, and assemble materials
- Read technical drawings and blueprints to determine dimensions and assembly procedures
- Conduct quality checks on finished products to ensure compliance with standards
- Assist in the assembly process by fitting, aligning, and securing parts accurately
- Maintain a clean and organised workspace, adhering to health and safety regulations at all times
- Collaborate with team members to meet production deadlines efficiently
Qualifications
- Proven experience in TIG welding and general fabrication processes
- Strong knowledge of welding techniques specific to welding standards
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and sheet metal working equipment
- Mechanical aptitude with an understanding of basic maths for measurements and calculations
- Ability to read technical drawings and blueprints accurately
- Experience with assembly processes is desirable
- Good organisational skills with attention to detail
- Relevant certifications or qualifications in welding or fabrication are advantageous but not essential
