To accurately produce and dispense prescriptions and medication to patients, operating the Practice computer system and liaising with GPs to follow the financial requirements of the Practice and maintain clear, accurate and safe systems for the control of all drug stocks
- Dispensing repeat prescriptions for patients on dispensary list (after signature of GP)
- Dispensing acute prescriptions for patients on dispensary list
- Requesting proof of exemption if not age exempt
- Advising on pre-payment certificates, exemption etc.
- Accurately cashing up till daily
- Accurately counting dispensed prescriptions daily – checking reverse side has been correctly completed
- Passing written prescriptions to patients / chemists
- Sending prescriptions to Prescription Pricing Authority (PPA) each month
- Making and checking nomads
- CD register, stock check, entering stock and patients collections
- Date checking stock and destroying out of date
