Altrad are currently looking for a CompEx Electrician to join our Aberdeen team to support the maintenance, repair and testing of electrical plant and equipment.
This role is responsible for ensuring all electrical assets are serviced, maintained and tested in accordance with company procedures, manufacturer guidelines and relevant legislation, supporting the safe and efficient delivery of services to our offshore clients.
Key Deliverables:
- Carry out servicing, maintenance and repair of electrical plant and equipment in accordance with company procedures and manufacturer recommendations.
- Perform functional testing of all company and third-party electrical plant and equipment prior to mobilisation.
- Ensure all electrical equipment is fully operational, compliant and fit for purpose before dispatch.
- Support compliance with PUWER, LOLER and other relevant statutory legislation and company procedures.
- Assist with the inspection, maintenance and certification of electrical equipment.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records, inspection reports and service documentation.
- Compile certification packs, including operating instructions and supporting documentation, ensuring all certification remains valid.
- Manage electrical stores, maintaining accurate stock levels and conducting routine stock audits.
- Assist with the preparation of check sheets and manifests to support equipment mobilisation.
- Ensure workshop tools, equipment and testing facilities remain safe, organised and operational.
- Promote high standards of housekeeping within workshop and storage areas.
- Support the development and sharing of technical knowledge with colleagues.
- Build effective working relationships with internal teams, clients and third-party suppliers.
- Ensure all work is completed in accordance with Company HSEQ policies, procedures and standards.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance workshop efficiency, quality and operational performance.
- Undertake offshore visits as required to support operational activities.
Key Requirements/Qualifications:
- GCSEs, higher education qualification or equivalent experience demonstrating technical competence.
- Previous experience in a similar electrical maintenance or workshop role.
- Strong understanding of electrical plant maintenance, fault finding and testing.
- Ability to interpret technical documentation and manufacturer instructions.
- Good organisational skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Commitment to maintaining high standards of health, safety and quality.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
- CompEx certification.
- Knowledge of PUWER and LOLER regulations (desirable).
- COSHH and Manual Handling training (desirable).
- Task Risk Assessment training (desirable).
- Forklift Licence (desirable).
- Environmental Awareness training (desirable).
- Product-specific equipment training (desirable).
- ATEX training (desirable).
- Previous experience within the Oil & Gas industry (desirable).
