We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Piano Teacher to join our well established, fast growing and respected music academy. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality piano instruction to students of ages 5-18 of varying skill levels, in schools around Leicestershire. We are also looking for someone to teach on a Monday evening from our studios. This role offers an opportunity to inspire and nurture musical talent, fostering a love for music through personalised lessons and professional guidance. The ideal applicant will possess a strong musical background, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to student development.
Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging piano lessons tailored to individual student needs and goals
- Assess students’ progress regularly and adjust teaching methods accordingly
- Prepare students for performances, exams, and competitions as appropriate
- Foster a positive learning environment that encourages creativity and confidence
- Maintain accurate records of lesson plans, attendance, and student achievements
- Provide constructive feedback to students and parents regarding progress and areas for improvement through our online system
- Stay updated with current teaching techniques and musical trends to ensure effective instruction
- Maintain a current DBS
Experience
- Proven experience as a piano teacher or professional pianist is highly desirable
- Formal qualifications in music or piano performance are preferred but not essential if accompanied by demonstrable teaching experience
- Ability to teach a range of styles from classical to contemporary music
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage your time across multiple schools
- Strong interpersonal skills to motivate and inspire learners of all ages
- Knowledge of music theory, sight-reading, and ear training techniques is highly desirable
- Knowledge of or willingness to learn the LCM Piano syllabus for examinations
