Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and experienced 7.5 tonne driver to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for safely delivering goods to various locations, ensuring timely and efficient service. This role requires a professional driver with a good understanding of commercial driving regulations and experience in delivering goods using flatbed vehicles. The position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment with a focus on safety and customer satisfaction.
Duties
- Operate a 7.5 tonne flatbed vehicle for the transportation of goods to designated locations
- Plan routes effectively to ensure timely deliveries whilst adhering to legal driving hours and safety regulations
- Secure loads properly on the flatbed to prevent movement during transit
- Conduct pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections, reporting any issues promptly
- Assist with loading and unloading goods as required, ensuring all items are handled with care
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation and logs
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and clients regarding delivery schedules and any potential delays
- Follow all health and safety protocols, including adherence to road safety laws and company policies
Requirements
- Valid UK driving licence with a category C1 (7.5 tonne) entitlement
- Proven experience in commercial driving, particularly with flatbed vehicles or similar lorries
- Delivery driver experience is highly desirable
- Strong knowledge of road safety regulations and traffic laws within the UK
- Ability to handle physical tasks such as securing loads and assisting with loading/unloading when necessary
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to plan routes efficiently
- Good communication skills for liaising with clients and team members
- Reliable, punctual, and committed to maintaining high standards of safety and professionalism
Pay: £14.00-£15.70 per hour
