Digital Marketing & Content Manager
Part-Time – 2 Days Per Week
Salary: £30,000 per annum FTE / £12,000 pro rata
The Role
We are looking for a genuinely creative, commercially minded Digital Marketing & Content Manager to take ownership of the digital presence across our group of hospitality businesses.
This isn't a role for someone who wants to sit behind a desk scheduling generic social posts.
We want someone who enjoys being in the venues, understanding what makes each business special, spotting opportunities for great content and turning those ideas into campaigns that ultimately get more people through the doors.
You'll work closely with our venue managers and wider management team, visiting sites regularly to capture content, understand upcoming events and promotions, develop campaigns and ensure our businesses have a consistently strong digital presence.
The role is two days per week, but we're looking for someone who can have a significant impact within those two days.
What You'll Be DoingContent Creation
You'll regularly visit our hospitality venues to:
- Shoot high-quality photography and short-form video content.
- Capture food, drinks, events, spaces, staff and the atmosphere of each venue.
- Create engaging Instagram, TikTok, Facebook and other relevant social content.
- Produce Reels, Stories and other short-form video.
- Identify spontaneous content opportunities rather than relying entirely on pre-planned shoots.
- Maintain a strong bank of usable content for each business.
You don't need to be a professional photographer, but you do need a strong visual eye and know how to make hospitality businesses look exciting online.
Campaign Planning
You'll develop and deliver campaigns around:
- New menus and products.
- Events and entertainment.
- Seasonal opportunities.
- Christmas, Valentine's Day, Mother's Day and other key hospitality dates.
- Offers and promotions.
- New openings and launches.
- Quieter trading periods where we want to drive additional footfall.
- Larger brand-building campaigns.
We want someone who thinks beyond simply:
"We need three Instagram posts this week."
Instead, we want someone asking:
What are we trying to achieve, who are we trying to reach and what content or campaign will actually make them take action?
Working With Venue Managers
Our venue managers know their customers and businesses extremely well.
You'll work directly with them to:
- Understand what is happening at each site.
- Identify opportunities to promote the business.
- Build simple monthly marketing plans.
- Develop ideas collaboratively.
- Gather information about upcoming events, products and initiatives.
- Help managers think more creatively about local marketing.
- Ensure campaigns actually happen rather than disappearing into a spreadsheet.
You'll provide the marketing expertise while giving individual venues enough personality to avoid every business looking and sounding the same.
Social Media & Digital Presence
You'll take responsibility for improving the quality, consistency and reach of our digital channels.
This will include:
- Planning social media calendars.
- Writing engaging captions and campaign copy.
- Publishing and scheduling content.
- Community engagement where appropriate.
- Monitoring comments, messages and customer interaction.
- Keeping Google Business profiles and other important digital channels current.
- Identifying new platforms and opportunities where they make commercial sense.
We care much more about good content and real engagement than vanity metrics.
Paid Marketing
Depending on your experience, you'll also help plan and manage targeted paid campaigns through platforms such as Meta.
You should understand the basics of:
- Audience targeting.
- Retargeting.
- Campaign objectives.
- Creative testing.
- Local advertising.
- Measuring return on spend.
You don't need to be a performance marketing specialist, but you should understand how paid advertising can support a wider hospitality marketing strategy.
Measuring What Works
Creativity matters, but ultimately marketing needs to help grow the businesses.
You'll monitor things such as:
- Reach and engagement.
- Audience growth.
- Website traffic.
- Event and ticket sales.
- Bookings.
- Campaign performance.
- Promotional redemptions.
- Customer acquisition.
- Google searches and profile activity.
We don't expect every piece of marketing to have an immediately measurable ROI, but we do expect someone who is interested in understanding what works and doing more of it.
Who We're Looking For
We're more interested in talent, creativity and attitude than a particular qualification.
You could come from an agency, an in-house marketing role, freelance content creation or hospitality itself.
What matters is that you can demonstrate that you know how to make businesses interesting online.
You Should Be
- Highly creative.
- Visually strong.
- Comfortable taking photographs and shooting video.
- Confident creating short-form social content.
- A good copywriter.
- Organised enough to manage multiple brands simultaneously.
- Comfortable working independently.
- Happy walking into busy hospitality venues and getting the content you need.
- Confident working directly with managers.
- Full of ideas but also capable of actually delivering them.
- Commercially aware.
- Interested in hospitality, food, drink, culture and events.
- Up to date with social media without blindly following every trend.
You'll Probably Enjoy This Job If…
You're the person who walks into a restaurant, café or bar and immediately starts thinking:
"They should film that."
"That would make a brilliant campaign."
"Why aren't they telling people about this?"
"This place looks much better in real life than it does online."
You'll have considerable creative freedom and access to a diverse group of hospitality businesses, giving you plenty of material to work with.
What Success Looks Like
After six months, we would expect:
- Every business to have a noticeably stronger digital presence.
- A consistent pipeline of high-quality original content.
- Venue managers actively contributing to marketing plans.
- Better planned campaigns around important trading periods.
- Growth in relevant social audiences and engagement.
- Stronger awareness of our brands locally.
- Clear evidence of campaigns driving bookings, visits, events or sales.
- Our businesses looking as good online as they do in real life.
