Apex Hydraulics is a leader in the design, manufacture, and repair of high-end hydraulic equipment. For over 30 years, we have specialized in bespoke projects for the fluid power industry. From our large, modern, and well-equipped workshop in Dewsbury, we provide a complete in-house service for cylinders, power packs, pumps, and valves.
The Role
We are looking for a motivated Semi-Skilled Fitter to join our workshop team. This is an ideal role for someone with a strong mechanical background who is looking to further their career in the hydraulics industry.
You will work alongside our senior engineers, assisting in the assembly and refurbishment of hydraulic components. While a basic understanding of hydraulics is an advantage, we are primarily looking for mechanical competence and a hands-on approach.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assisting in the assembly of new hydraulic cylinders and power packs from technical drawings.
- Stripping down and cleaning units for inspection and refurbishment.
- Ensuring the workshop remains organized and adhering to safety standards.
- Working to production schedules and self-managing daily tasks.
What We Are Looking For
- Mechanical Experience: Previous experience in a mechanical fitting, garage, or manufacturing environment.
- Technical Aptitude: Comfortable using hand tools and power tools
- Growth Mindset: A keen interest in hydraulics; you don’t need to know everything yet, but you must be willing to learn.
- Reliability: Able to work consistently to schedules and take on overtime when the workload requires.
- Team Player: Ability to take direction from senior fitters while also working independently on routine tasks.
