Salary: £13.28ph
Hours: 40 hours per week
Shift Pattern: 6 vacancies available - 3 x AM shifts (Monday to Friday, 6am–2pm) and 3 x PM shifts (Monday to Friday, 2pm–10pm)

About the Role
As a Hygiene Operative, you'll be responsible for keeping our factory environment — including corridors, canteen, changing rooms, and both high-risk and low-risk production areas — clean, tidy, and safe at all times. You'll work with the correct cleaning materials and equipment, follow strict PPE and workwear procedures, and help manage the workwear collection and issue process with our service provider.
This is a hands-on role that requires flexibility, as you may be asked to provide cover for other Hygiene team members or support Production when needed.
Key Responsibilities
- Keep all communal and production areas free from debris, clean, and tidy
- Clean changing areas and both high-risk and low-risk factory zones using appropriate materials, maintaining safe conditions throughout
- Ensure correct use of PPE and workwear, maintaining area segregation in line with Company procedure
- Collect and sort used workwear for collection, and issue clean workwear received from the service provider
- Carry out tasks as directed through on-the-job and external training
- Dispose of waste in line with Environmental and Health & Safety Regulations, minimising waste where possible
- Maintain up-to-date allergen awareness to protect product integrity
- Ensure all work complies with food safety regulations as set out in the Quality Manual
- Provide cover for Hygiene team members during absences and support Production as required
- Uphold Company procedures relating to Environmental Regulations and Health & Safety
- Maintain confidentiality and support site security for environmental, employee, and food safety purposes
- Maintain high standards of housekeeping in line with Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP)
- Clean and correctly store all hygiene equipment
- Report any areas of concern to Management
What We're Looking For
Essential:
- Knowledge of food manufacturing and hygiene practices
Desirable:
- Strong communication skills
- Good organisational skills
- Ability to prioritise and work using your own initiative
- A team player who can also work autonomously
- Good understanding of cleaning practices and waste disposal
- Food Hygiene Certificate (Minimum Level 2)
- Chemical training
