Summary
We are looking for a motivated and passionate individual to join us as part of our team in September 2026, for 2 terms until Easter 2027. The successful candidate will work on a full-time basis on a fixed-term contract.
Our SEND Teaching Assistants make a real difference to the lives of our children with Special Educational Needs in our school, by providing high quality care and exceptional support for learning activities. Integral to ensuring that our children achieve their full potential, our SEND Teaching Assistants work closely with Classroom Teachers to secure an outstanding education and learning experience assisting with behaviour management and learning activities, liaising with families and recording pupil progress. In addition, the delivery of high-quality care, support programmes, interventions and therapies (including feeding, intimate care, physical health and behavioural), ensures that the health, safety and wellbeing needs of children are met, enabling learning and ensuring the best possible education. This position is part time, term time only, please note the salary quoted is full time equivalent. If successful, the salary received will be paid on a pro rata basis.
Essential Qualifications
- NVQ level 3 for Teaching Assistant or above qualification (or equivalent)
Level 2 or higher/equivalent qualification in English/Literacy and Mathematics/Numeracy

Additional SEN qualifications

Essential Experience
- Experience of working with children with SEN
- Experience of working with EYFS and KS1 children
- Experience of working in an SEN classroom environment
- Experience of supporting pupils with challenging behaviour
- Experience of working with children with EHCPs
Desirable Experience
- Experience of working within an SEN provision room/unit
- Experience of administrative work
