Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated SEN (Special Educational Needs) Teaching Assistant to join our educational team. In this vital role, you will support children with diverse learning needs, including those with autism and other disabilities, within a classroom environment. Your primary responsibility will be to assist the lead teachers in delivering tailored educational programs, fostering an inclusive and nurturing atmosphere that promotes each child's development. Responsibilities
- Provide one-on-one and group support to children with special educational needs, including those with autism and disabilities.
- Assist in implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) designed to meet each child's unique requirements.
- Support children during classroom activities, ensuring they remain engaged and motivated.
- Foster a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment that encourages social interaction and emotional growth.
- Collaborate closely with teachers, therapists, and parents to monitor progress and adapt support strategies accordingly.
- Assist with daily routines such as meal times, transitions, and personal care tasks like toddler care when necessary.
- Use effective communication skills to facilitate understanding and participation among children with diverse needs.
Skills
- Experience working with individuals with autism and other disabilities in educational or care settings.
- Strong background in teaching or supporting children within special education environments.
- Prior experience working with children of various age groups, including toddlers.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with children, colleagues, and parents.
- Knowledge of special education strategies and inclusive teaching practices.
- Ability to adapt quickly to changing needs and support individualized learning plans.
- Compassionate approach combined with patience, resilience, and enthusiasm for supporting children's development.
