Real People Solutions is recruiting on behalf of our client for two Waste Advisors to support an exciting environmental initiative across the New Forest District.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working outdoors, engaging with the public, and helping to improve recycling and waste management within the local community.
The Role
As a Waste Advisor, you will travel across the New Forest District visiting local recycling sites to educate residents, encourage responsible waste disposal, and help reduce contamination and fly-tipping.
You will be the face of the campaign, providing advice, gathering information, and supporting the council's commitment to improving recycling rates and protecting the local environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Visit domestic recycling sites across the district.
- Educate residents on the correct use of recycling facilities.
- Promote alternative disposal options, including Household Waste Recycling Centres and kerbside collections.
- Help prevent commercial waste being disposed of at domestic recycling sites.
- Signpost businesses to appropriate commercial waste services.
- Speak confidently with residents and answer waste-related queries.
- Identify barriers to effective recycling and encourage positive behaviour change.
- Record accurate, real-time notes of site visits and incidents to support enforcement activity.
- Assist with community roadshows, engagement events and awareness campaigns.
- Travel independently between sites throughout the New Forest District.
- Work flexibly when required, including occasional early mornings, evenings and weekends for planned events.
What We're Looking For

- Good organisational and record-keeping skills.
- Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Full UK driving licence with access to your own vehicle (essential).
