About Us
Very excitingly, from September 2026, WMG Academy Trust will welcome its first cohort of Year 9 students. This marks a significant milestone in our journey and enables us to further shape and strengthen our UTC curriculum, reinforcing our business-like, business-led ethos from an even earlier stage.
WMG Academy is a thriving and welcoming establishment for aspiring young Engineers. With a strong emphasis on science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM), we offer a distinctive curriculum that includes GCSEs (including core subjects), A Levels, vocational and technical qualifications, or a combined approach.

We’re Looking For A Very Special Engineering Instructor
To provide general and practical support to staff and students within the Engineering department, including preparation and maintenance of resources and equipment, demonstrations, leading and supporting practical delivery within the engineering workshop in accordance with strict health and safety guidance procedures. You will be part of an overall team delivering various curriculums and ensuring students have the best learning experience possible. This will include :
- workshop activities; milling, turning, bench fitting and CNC
- model making, prototyping and 3D realisation
- stores and materials management
- production of components and models in line with specific industrial briefs
- maintenance of machinery and equipment to the highest standards

You Will Have:
An awareness of Health and Safety in a technical environment
Excellent subject knowledge
Ability to create an ethos which enables all learners to achieve their potential
To be able to work effectively as a team
Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work in partnership with a diverse range of stakeholders
Excellent communication skills
Competence in literacy, numeracy and ICT skills
Knowledge and understanding of health and safety policy and relevant COVID guidelines
