Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Cook/Kitchen Assistant to join our team at a caring nursing home facility. Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook meals according to dietary guidelines, recipes, and resident preferences, ensuring consistency and quality.
- Assist with food preparation tasks such as chopping, portioning, and assembling ingredients for various dishes.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, including washing dishes, sanitizing surfaces, and disposing of waste properly.
- Follow food safety protocols diligently to prevent contamination and ensure compliance with health regulations.
- Support serving meals to residents in a friendly and respectful manner, ensuring timely delivery.
- Monitor inventory levels of kitchen supplies and ingredients, notifying management when stock needs replenishing.
- Assist in receiving deliveries, storing food items appropriately, and rotating stock to minimize waste.
Qualifications
- Prior experience in food preparation or cooking within a restaurant or healthcare setting is preferred.
- Knowledge of food safety standards and proper handling procedures is essential.
- Experience working in a kitchen environment with culinary responsibilities is highly desirable.
- Ability to follow recipes accurately while maintaining high standards of hygiene and cleanliness.
- Strong organizational skills with an eye for detail to ensure meal quality and safety.
- Excellent communication skills to work collaboratively with team members and support residents’ needs.
