We’re currently expanding the engineering design team at AGS, and a big part of the role is supporting the delivery of civil design packages across energy infrastructure projects, particularly BESS developments.
The role will involve producing and updating drawings such as general arrangements, site layouts, drainage, and earthworks, working from engineer mark-ups and survey information. A key part of the position is being able to take rough information or sketches and turn them into clean, accurate, and buildable drawings in line with our standards.
You'll also be supporting temporary works and assisting with things like haul roads, working platforms, and access layouts, so there’s a good mix of design and practical work. There will also be opportunities to attend site on a weekly basis if needs be, to help better understand what is being built and how drawings translate into construction.
You will be working closely within a small team, including a senior chartered civil engineer who will provide guidance when needed, as well as another civil design technician to collaborate with and support development. Our Projects are mainly within the energy sector, so you will be exposed to a range of infrastructure work rather than repetitive drafting, as every site carries its unique engineering solutions.
We’re looking for someone with a civil background, around 2–6 years’ experience, who’s comfortable in AutoCAD (Civil 3D and Knowledge of BIM is bonus), and able to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
